Christopher: Things That Helped Me Study (Entering Judson College, August 2024)

Image
Better version: Things that helped me study 1. Jordan studied with me 2. Mama turned off Internet  (When older brother got psychosis, 2014) 3. Auditing two courses a semester had little pressure (for several years before entering Judson College) 4. Loving professors helped me grow. Dr. Williams nurtured my love for comparative linguistics by spending up to an hour with me after each class. Dr. Quarles encouraged me to study text criticism. Dr. Robinson encouraged me in general. Dr. Hardy taught me comparative linguistics. Nathan and Jordan read with me. 5. I got sick with Lyme. 6. Val helped me with German. Essential for my Ugaritic studies. 7. School let me audit French. Helpful for research. 8. I got accepted into the college when I thought there were too many obstacles to get in. Great Charlotte Ashley Ideas

  1. Regular meals:  There is no substitute for family dinner time discussions, fellowship, and communion.  Sharing a table together nightly is a priceless buttress supporting the biblical family model.   2. Weight-lifting: regular family attendance to a fitness center or the YMCA 3. Swimming: "Go three times a week to the YMCA to swim."  (I agree. This would be very good for our health. Regular Bible reading each night, with prayer and singing.  (I would like to have a choir, practicing 4-part harmony with the piano.)  5. A Trashcan in each room.  We now have several at The Popcorn House.  It works well now that I have time to gather and empty them all.  6. “Youth cannot know how age thinks and feels, but old men are guilty if they forget what it was to be young.” Dumbledore H...

Honor Thy Parents (Holding Tank for Drafts) 10 July 2025

Collection of Working Drafts  A. Honor In Our Speech 6 July 2025 To honor your parents, strive to always treat them like an honored guest. Give your undivided attention first and foremost to them. Remember what your parents say, even the little things, and your days shall be not only long on this earth, but your days shall recline in peaceful, productive flourishing. And you shall find it vastly easier to let God flow through you as you love all peoples. Do not disdain your parents or judge them. Do not interrupt them when they speak. Refrain from scorning them or admonishing them. Never discount their advice or wisdom, as if they were fools. Rather, listen to them when they speak. Do not cross-examine them, ridicule them, or question them severely. Always answer the phone and listen to them well when they call. And thank God you only have two parents, whom you have to give this extra-high ...
